People make everything from pillow covers to shower curtains with it, but I’m in it for the tablecloths. My dining table is longer than most, and I like to switch things up as often as I like to change my dishes. I just needed an easy fix.

Here’s the trick:
– Measure your fabric for a 15” drop—or 30” if you want it to reach the floor.
– Double the drop number and add it to the length of your table for your total length.
– Cut one full length for the center. Then cut another piece of fabric the same length. Cut it in half lengthwise and tape it to the edges of the center piece on either side.
– Turn under the edges, tape your “hem,” toss it over the table, and spritz with Downy Wrinkle Release.

That’s it—no sewing, no stress. My silk tablecloths, made with tape, have been to the dry cleaner several times—returned perfectly.

Now go get sticky. Take your dinner plate to the fabric store, find something beautiful, and make it yours.
